Old and New


'Normally, the ensemble is just a result of the one-sided role of the new architecture which either mimics or contrasts. When one allows that interventions are possible in the available tectonic and stylistic substance, then the context is also adaptable to more radical forms of architecture. A gradual transition of trustworthiness in detail and a stepped scaling of the volumes reconcile every contrast between old and new.'
